The following universities have established policy and communication about the Coronavirus in our community.
Lake Super State University – Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, we are suspending all face-to-face instruction through at least Friday, April 17, 2020, and are moving to an online/virtual learning environment. Visit www.lssu.edu/coronavirus/ for updated information.
Michigan State University has suspended campus classes and is moving to online classes effective noon on March 11. Students are encouraged to return to their permanent addresses on March 20.
Michigan Tech has suspended campus classes and is moving to online classes until April 17.
University of Michigan The University of Michigan will cancel all classes on Thursday and Friday before starting online instruction on Monday. In addition, all events with more than 100 people scheduled are cancelled. Michigan Athletics is limiting spectators at all campus athletic events to family members and media.
Eastern Michigan University Effective March 12, we are suspending face-to-face instruction in lectures, seminars and other similar classroom settings. The suspension of on campus/in person classes will last through Tuesday, March 31 — with on campus/in person classes tentatively set to resume on April 1.
Central Michigan University has suspended campus classes and is moving to online classes after Spring Break, March 20.
Grand Valley State University GVSU COVID-19 Update: Grand Valley classes are canceled March 12-15. GVSU will then convert to remote teaching beginning March 16, at least through March 29.
- In-person instruction will be suspended at 5 p.m. today and will be replaced by remote learning, effective on Monday, March 16.
- All courses currently delivered online will continue as scheduled.
- Remote learning will continue through the end of the semester (April 25).
- Students in labs and clinical programs will be contacted directly by their department. We are working with faculty and staff on laboratory and performance classes, and will provide additional information in the upcoming week.
- Students with limited or no available internet access should contact the Office of the Provost at email@example.com.
Saginaw Valley State University – We are suspending face-to-face instruction for lecture and discussion classes and moving to online or remote instruction, effective Monday, March 16 and through at least Friday, April 17. SVSU’s source for Coronavirus COVID-19 updates
Western Michigan University Western Michigan University will begin delivering instruction through distance education on Monday, March 16, through Friday, April 3, effective for all locations. The University will continue monitoring this fluid situation and determine by Friday, March 27, if that time frame needs to be extended.
Ferris State University Beginning Monday, March 16, all face-to-face classes at all Ferris State University campus locations, including Kendall College of Art and Design, are being suspended and replaced with a remote learning delivery method. Initially this will continue through March 27 and may be extended if necessary.
Wayne State University Per @WXYZ, According to the university, they will extend spring break for students and cancel classes until March 23. Campus housing will remain open but the university is encouraging people who don’t have to be on campus to return to their permanent place of residence. Those who can’t will still be able to stay and dine in campus facilities.
Hope College – March 12 classes are canceled.
All classes Thursday, March 12, are canceled. This will give students additional time to prepare for their departure from campus for spring break. It also will give our faculty and staff time to prepare for remote delivery of coursework. Remote classes begin March 23.
Baker College – No news at the close of Wednesday.
